Why Do Good Idea’s Sometimes Fail To Work?
Sound familiar?
You have a good idea you could carry out with your new hobby – one that you think will really succeed and help you achieve your goals.
You tell your spouse or friend about your great hobby project idea.
You make some notes about your new hobby idea.
You even check out what it will take to do the new hobby.
But then for some reason, life gets in the way, and soon your good hobby idea is just another set of notes, a fading memory that becomes harder to recall … until…
You see someone else *doing* what you planned to do with your good idea! And sure enough – they are succeeding with your good idea!
But here’s the challenge for you today.
The good news is that you had the idea. And you can rest easy knowing that you will have another.
So… why do some good hobby ideas fail to make it to reality?
1. Too Much Thinking – Not Enough Doing.
We’ve probably all been guilty of thinking a situation to death, then never acted on those thoughts. I know I have, and nothing gets done.
One way to avoid this situation is to make a list of what needs to happen for your hobby idea to become a reality. Make the list quickly, simply writing down what comes to mind.
Then, without any further refinement of the list, take action on the most important item. And that may well be as simple as finding the *right kind of info* to help you to get started on your goals.
For people who just want to make things, but are not succeeding right now, the first thing might be to set about learning the very basics of the hobby, and taking it *step-by-step* from there.
No matter what the thing is, do what you can on it now, and then do something every day. Pretty soon, you will be further ahead than you ever imagined possible.
2. Trying To Get Others To Do Most Of The Work.
Here is a myth that needs busting.
You have heard how easy it is to succeed with your hobby, because everyone tells you so. And yes, some things are as simple as ABC. But that’s not totally true, and it’s time that someone stood up and told the truth.
The simple fact is, if you want to be successful with your hobby foundry, you are going to have to do most of the work yourself.
This includes:
The Learning – The Action Plan – The Building.
At least in the beginning, you would need to know how to build & set up all of your own equipment & tools. But, there is nothing
wrong with getting help from someone else who may have certain skills that you lack, or to ask someone who knows the right way
to tackle something.
You could also read info rich ebooks to further your knowledge and learning.
The gurus keep telling you that you can succeed by just doing XYZ process and your done.
But they are not telling the whole truth. What they are telling you is what can work after you have established and set in place the correct processes and methods for your hobby, not what will happen if you are a beginner.
It is nice to actually see the mistakes being made by others, you should learn from their mistakes, to help ensure you’ll get consistent, good results… that is real learning.
Our foundry ebooks will show you proven hobby foundry methods along with step-by-step equipment/tool – building procedures, they are a well rounded set of instruction guide manuals with enough how to content and *step-by-step illustrations* to keep you going for a long, long time.
To back this up you can read several unsolicited customer testimonials on our web site:

3. Ignoring The Basics.
——————————–
Vince Lombardi was right. In any endeavour of life, mastering the basics will take you further than trying to be at the *cutting edge*.
Many hobby foundry workers try to emulate the processes and methods used by highly skilled workers at the sharp end of the industry, this is unwise, and could be a costly exercise in both time & money. To be a successful hobby foundry worker really only requires a basic/semi advanced level of understanding of the craft.
You can do it, many others have done it, and heaven knows I’ve been using just the basics for about fourteen years with great success.
The following page will show you products made in the home foundry using basic skills and equipment.

4. Stopping Too Soon.
We’ve all heard the stories about the gold miner who stopped (Frustrated and exhausted) just five feet short of a major vein, only to sell his mine for pennies, when with just a little more effort would have yielded millions, and thus great success.
Those stories have a measure of truth here.
If you have a great hobby idea, one that you really believe in, then nothing should stop you from achieving your goal.
Remember this: There was a time in the history of every great idea when things were not going well. But persistence, mingled with common sense, caused the great idea to become a reality. In the early days of the space program, there were far more failures than successes. But persistence put Neil Armstrong on the moon.
Persistence can do amazing things. Is your great idea worthy of persistence?
5 Perfectionism.
Oh’ to be perfect in all things that you do. This is The Big Killer of so many great ideas & hobbies. We have all fallen victim to the same thought process … “I’ll wait until everything is just right before I unveil my great hobby idea”.
Here’s my advice – don’t wait. Don’t wait a day. Don’t wait an hour. Don’t wait a moment.
I’ve talked to ebook clients who’ve said they are still perfecting everything before they make a start.
Why?
Do you know what happened next? Sooner or later, it all gets to hard and they give up on the idea.
What a shame.
When learning something new, you should not be in such a big rush to absorb every ounce of info all at once, it is simply not possible, you need to take you’re time, but if you work at it every day, you will find that success will soon come your way.
Take action now. Not today sometime, but right now. Take the next five minutes and make some notes, write a message, talk your idea over … do something that moves you forward. Then do the same thing tomorrow and the next day, and every other day.
If you do that, you will make time your ally, and success will not be far behind!
