You’ve most likely heard the expression; “Money For Jam”, if not, then it translates into selling something (Like your services, your skills) and making some fast, easy cash.
And, it is often said about a skill or a project that provides an easy way of earning money, and it could be something that you could do on a regular basis and keep the cash rolling in.
We speak from experience here… it can be done.
Think about this, once you develop your skills and foundry technique to the stage where you find it easy to produce quality castings, you’re ready to find products to produce for others that you can sell for cash… in other words “Make Money For Jam” from your skills and effort.
As time passes, the number of people with mechanical and or practical skills, diminishes, and there are less people around who have special skills fix things.
Next time you are walking around your local area around the time that it is council junk collection time, take a close look at the kind of stuff that people throw out, it will amaze you, much of the stuff could be fixed, or re-purposed, but most people think it is all just to hard, and thay cant be bothered…much easier to throw it out and replace.
Is there a small gold mine here just waiting for someone like you to stake your money for jam claim?
Or maybe you are making things to sell.
The product does not have to be big or small, it does not have to be complex, sometimes the product you discover, might be looking you straight in the face, and you don’t even realize it.
It’ also possible that you could keep selling this product over and over, and …. well, you get my drift…
So what can you sell?… That’s what you’ll be thinking as you read this article…. The truth is, I cant tell you, and no one else can tell you… maybe they could make suggestions… but ultimately, it is up to you to find and discover what that “Money For Jam” item might be.
The thing you need to make is something that is easy to mould, easy to cast, and easy to finish and present for sale.
Things To Think about where a market could be lurking:
- Old Oil Engine enthusiasts
- Vintage Motorcycles – hard to get parts
- Veteran – Vintage and Classic Cars – Parts etc
- Old Trucks. – Parts etc.The Boating and Fishing community
- Outdoor Hobby Activities.
- Camping.
- All kinds of crafts
- Engineering Hobby workers… IE, fixtures and special holding jigs.
That’s a few things for you to think about, just for starters, I just thought of those ideas as I was typing, you might be able to think of a dozen more.
I’d love to show you something that we cast and sell for an insane profit, but I cant, because the internet being what it is, my competition will cotton onto it and I’ll lose sales… but the parts in question are small items we make and supply to British classic car owners.
The parts weigh just a few ounces, we sell them in pairs for well over $100.00 US, and we’ve sold a very large number, and they keep on selling, the cost to produce and finish these parts is peanuts… a cracker of a “Money For Jam” item, especially when some people order in multiples.
So what ever market you discover that you could sell to… good luck, and don’t tell anyone about it, and I hope you sell a truck load of whatever you discover that you can make and sell.
Now its time to put your thinking cap on, and get to work on your special “Money For Jam” project.
Good Luck.
